This is a translation for convenience. The German Datenschutzerklärung is the legally binding version.

In short

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other servers: the typefaces and pictures are all served from my own server. There is no contact form. If you email me, I use your details only to reply.

Controller

Hosting and server log files

This website runs on a server I operate myself. It is located in a data centre of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, at its Nuremberg site in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner. When a page is requested, the web server automatically stores information your browser sends in log files: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, amount of data transferred, browser type and version, operating system and the referring page. This data is not combined with other sources and is used only to run the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Log files are deleted after 7 days.

Contact by email

The “Start a project” buttons only open your own email program with a prepared text; the website itself transmits nothing. If you write to me, your details, including contact data, are stored to handle the enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to entering into a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. My mailbox is hosted by Migadu-Mail GmbH, Rohnen 587, 9414 Schachen, Switzerland; a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Migadu. The European Commission has recognised Switzerland as providing an adequate level of data protection (Art. 45 GDPR). I do not pass this data on without consent and delete it once the enquiry is settled, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

Contact by phone

If you call me, I process your phone number and what you tell me during the call only to handle your request. The same legal bases and deletion periods apply as for enquiries by email.

Encryption

This website is served over HTTPS only. The connection between your browser and my server is encrypted with TLS, so third parties cannot read the data transferred. You can tell by the “https://” in the address bar.

Transfers to third countries

The web server is located in Germany. The only data leaving the EU is email sent to me: it is processed by Migadu, based in Switzerland, which the European Commission has recognised as providing an adequate level of data protection. I do not transfer data to countries without an adequate level of protection, such as the USA.

Links to other websites

This website links to external services such as coachingspace.net, LinkedIn and Xing. When you follow a link you leave this website; the privacy notices of the respective provider apply there.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21). You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority; in North Rhine-Westphalia this is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
